Remember when a “Band” was 20, 30 or 50 musicians dressed in tuxedos and gowns? When you could carry on a conversation while they played? Remember when you could dance holding your partner in your arms?
John Grandi does.
He was on the bandstand and in the bus with some of the great “Bands” of all time and he shares that first hand knowledge and friendships with us in “Make Believe Ballroom”.
We will travel back in time to the Ballrooms that made music and the radio a household necessity and meet those great bandleaders in one on one interviews and hear their stories, and their music.
Each week we’ll meet one of the greats, but be warned these are real stories of the road recounted by one who was there.
So come live it all again - tap your toes and, it’s ok to dance in the living room - you remember what that was like . . .
